Traditional, innovative, diverse and supportive... Beth El is a wonderful place to call home.
Beth El is a vibrant Jewish community that has served the greater metropolitan Washington area for more than 150 years, making it the oldest Reform synagogue in Northern Virginia. The concept of
Tikkun Olomrepairing the world is very much a part of the fabric of Beth El life. Our social action programs range from feeding the hungry in our community to sending rehydration packets to parts of Africa, to reaching out to people in need around the world. Our interfaith activities build bridges of understanding for our families and our community at large.
Beth El's renovated building was dedicated in 2008 and boasts a state-of-the-art media and learning center, and a new preschool and day care center. Additionally, the rustic Chapel in the Woods (pictured below) offers a peaceful space for prayer and meditation.
Rabbi Brett Isserow and
Cantor Sharon Steinberg provide a variety of
inspirational religious services and spiritual guidance. Join us at
a Tot Shabbat, a family service or any of our other services or celebrations.
Beth El's religious school provides our children with a foundation in Jewish values and traditions, guiding them into adulthood as Jews living a Jewish life. Programs are creative and well organized. We welcome your classroom visits. At Beth El, education doesn't end with confirmation; our community learning is life-long.
Our social action programs are vibrant and follow the Jewish value of
Tikkun Olom repairing the broken world from programs to feed the hungry
to helping people in need around the world as well as within our own
community. Our interfaith activities build bridges of understanding
for our families and our community at large.
We hope to see you at a service, a celebration or in a class. You may download
